Partnering with CTI, New Website, & National Geographic
Posted on October 21, 2010 by SamnerWe’re excited to announce a few new changes at the Pepper Eater Project that have been in the works for the past few months.
New Partnership with Compatible Technology International
At the beginning of the summer we started discussions with Compatible Technology International, a Minneapolis, MN based non-profit focused on alleviates hunger and poverty in the developing world by designing and distributing simple, life-changing food and water technologies. With almost 30 years of experience in this field, we thought they made a perfect match for the Pepper Eater. Since September, we have been working with CTI volunteers to improve our design and establish partners in Ethiopia for manufacturing and distribution. With the help and leadership of CTI, we hope to launch pilot production of the newly designed Pepper Eater in Ethiopia by Summer 2011.
New Website
If you haven’t already noticed, we have launched a new website for the Pepper Eater Project! We hope the new site does a better job of telling the story of the women who process peppers in Ethiopia, and how we hope to help them. We worked with Ryan Burnette and Danilo Quilaton of the web design company TechStudio to build the new site. Please explore the new site and tell us what you think!
National Geographic Article
The Pepper Eater is being featured in the November issue of National Geographic. You can check out the article on-line. We’re honored to be featured alongside other really great projects! Thanks to everyone who has helped make this happen.

All of us at TechStudio have been really pleased to be involved with The Pepper Eater Project.
